The L13 Steam Locomotive
Designed by Ray Robertson after too many weeks
playing the train set J. P. Withers sent him for Christmas, the L13 is a Bureau-built
juggernaught. The single "steam" engine actually runs on powerful Object
Animation spells including: Complex Animation, Complex Decision Making,
and Self Preservation. The train almost has a mind of its own and the
engineer does little more than direct the engine along the tracks. Hidden
under the camouflage of its normal looking cars is an assortment of Bureau
equipment. The L13 functions as a mobile supply dump, hospital, holding
facility, and command center. It is often used to deliver new vehicles to
mobile teams and carries a pair of small (yet robust) nuclear missiles in
one car (just in case).
