1. Subject
This document is in response to requests for information on magical artifacts nicknamed Sorcerer's Stones. These rare items have been in existence for as long as can be remembered and have been found on all continents. Their origin is unknown, but some speculate they may have originated on the lost continent of Atlantis, however, this theory has never been proven.

2. Item
Sorcerer's Stones are magical artifacts which are egg-shaped and will appear to be made of colored marble, granite, or quartz. They are each approximately 5-6 inches high, 3-4 inches wide, 2-3 inches deep, and weigh approximately 5-6 pounds each. They feel smooth except for a multi-pointed star etched into the front and back of the stone. Detecting these stones is extremely difficult, because they emit no abnormal aura that a Kirlian Detector can detect. However, the stones will respond to the touch of a mage by glowing and humming. The brightness and volume of this response are dependent upon the arcane power of the mage touching the stone. The stones will also repel one another if they are less than 3 feet apart.

3. Powers
Each stone is apparently attuned to one particular type of magic (Healing, Illusion, Curses, Protection, Etc.). The stones will pass this attunement onto any mage who is in physical contact with the stone. While the mage is touching the stone, he may use spells of the same category as the stone at +25% to skill and the spells will cost only 50% normal WKM cost and the stone will function in place of any neede spell components. On the downside, the mage is "detuned" to other types of spells. These spells will be at -25% to skill and 2x normal WKM cost. This effect lasts for several hours after contact with the stone is broken. There is also an unusual side effect attached to the use of each stone. The mage who is using the stone is subjected to a minor curse-like effect. The effect is different with each stone, some last only as long as contact is maintained while others last much longer. None of the observed effects are harmful, but they are often very annoying. It should be noted that, in the past, some stones in the possession of Bureau 13 have changed their attunement. It is not known how or why this happens, but the side effect changed as well. Recently, Team Scorpio discovered a stone that had a charge of WKP stored in it. This is a development which will be investigated in the future.

4. Present Owner
The Bureau is currently in possession of five Sorcerer's Stones locked away at the "Bangor, Maine" vault. The stones' attunement and curses follow:

TypeCurse Effect
AreomancyThe mage's head hair grows at the rate of one inch per minute of contact.
DivinationThe mage's voice is magnified to megaphone levels. Lasts for several hours.
IllusionThe mage's eyes glow flashlight bright as long as contact is maintained.
DynamancyThe mage smells of cinnamon for several hours.
Demon SummoningThe mage loses all magic resistance for several hours.

5. Recommended Action
If any field agents happen to find one of these stones, it must be turned into the Bureau for proper examination. If it is useable by the agents, it will be returned for field use. Please do not experiment with them yourself, we lose enough agents as it is.
