Paranormals - Tenctonians

Main Menu
A race from a couple dimensions over, the Tenctonians who join Bureau 13 are usually seeking sanctuary from their homeworld. There they are bred as a slave race for the labor pool. Those that have escaped to our dimension have been accepted into the Bureau with open arms. Since they possess two hearts, the average Tenctionian has greater strength and constitution than a human, but their overall reaction times are slightly slower than humans. They tend to learn more quickly but seem to have all the social graces of a rock, and they often take things too literally. They are also immune to methane gas and cannot eat cooked food. Their diet should be taken into consideration by the team they work with (get them their own fridge). A typical Tenctonian stands 5' 10" and weighs 190 pounds (their tissues are 10% denser than human tissue). They possess no body hair and have natural spot-like markings on the head and down the back which identify the individual and family. These markings will fade with the loss of mental faculties due to drunkenness, age, or drugs. This effect is similar to a human's eyes losing focus and glazing over. Tenctonian ears look more like slits or holes in the sides of their heads and are not quite as sensitive as human ears. Tenctonians hiding out in our world must wear wigs or hats to hide their differences from humans. Their language (Tenctonese) is comprised of sounds that resemble clicks, pops, and grunts. Any human who wishes to learn the language must pay double the points cost for the first 7 levels of skill.

The Tenctonians have 3 genders; gannaum (male), linnaum (female), and binnaum (neuter). All three are required for reproduction. Binnaum children are rare (1 in 100) and do not take permanent mates. Instead, they are expected to grant their services as needed for the continuance of their race. A binnaum is recognizable by the oversized spots on his head. Binnaum tend to look like small males (average 5' 7" and 160 lbs.). Tenctonese have a life span of approximately 120 to 140 years. Gannaum experience what is called riana, similar to menopause in female humans, around age 90. After going through riana, a gannaum cannot have any more children, but his mental facualties will be increased. The Bureau Misinformation Department has managed to make a movie, a critically acclaimed TV series, and a set of novels based on the Tenctonians.

GAME NOTES:

Any Bureau agents who work with Tenctonians should learn about their physiological, mental, and dietary differences.
Tenctonian blood is a pale pink and will not be mistaken for human. This also means that Pink is a "power color" to them.
Tenctonians do not sweat.
Tenctonians' eyes change color depending on their mood: blue =calm, red =fear, black =anger, green =pain, yellow =excitement/happiness, purple =shock
Tenctonians need to breathe a Nitrogen/Oxygen at a 2/1 ratio
With 2 hearts, the onset time of poisons is halved. If one heart is damaged, the other will work harder for a limited time. One heart is located in approximately the same spot as a human heart, the second is located in the center of the chest at the bottom of the rib cage.
Certain common compounds found on Earth are poisonous to Tenctonians. Some compounds are poisonous to humans, but harmless to Tenctonians.
