1. SUBJECT
   The artifact referred to as The Holy Grail, The Cup Of Christ or The True Grail. The item's true appearance is unknown but it is believed to be a cup of some sort, either of beaten copper or made of glazed clay, rumors that the item is made of gold and decorated with priceless gems can be discounted out of hand.
2. ITEM HISTORY
   The story of the grail begins with Joseph of Arimathaea, a wealthy Jew to whose care Christ's body is given for burial and who, according to some legends, also obtains the cup used by Christ at the Last Supper. While he is washing the body to prepare it for the tomb, some blood flows from the wounds which he catches in this vessel. After the disappearance of the body, Joseph is accused of stealing it, is thrown into prison and deprived of food. Here it is said, Christ appears to him in a blaze of light and entrusts the cup to his care. Joseph is miraculously kept alive by a dove which enters his cell every day and deposits a wafer in the cup. He is released in A.D. 70 and, joined by his sister and her husband Bron, goes into exile overseas with a small group of followers. A table called the First Table of the Grail is constructed to represent the Table of the Last Supper (a fish is laid in Christ's place) at which twelve may sit down. A thirteenth seat, representing the place of Judas, remains empty after one of the company tries to sit in it and is swallowed up. (This seat is thereafter referred to as the Siege Perilous.)
3. POWERS
   The grail is said to be a holy artifact which is purifies and enhances any substance placed within it - a moldy piece of bread placed within the cup would become fresh and would provide a full day's nourishment to whomever ate the bread. Legends also imply that drinking water from the grail grants "eternal life" - what this means exactly is unknown but many believe the drinker will not age or become ill so long as they drink from the grail on a regular basis.
4. PRESENT OWNER
   Unknown. The grail has been "found" many times by many people, in most cases the grails turn out to be fake or only cups with minor enchantments cast upon them to make them appear to be the True Grail. The Bureau has amassed over a dozen false grails in the last 100 years.
5. RECCOMENDED ACTION
   If you find a grail, turn it in to Bureau R&D for authentication, please do not drink from it before establishing its true nature.
